NoStigmas is collecting survivor stories to inspire hope & erase stigmas. We would love to hear your story!  If your life has been touched by suicide and/or mental illness and you want to get involved, read on to learn more about this project.

By sharing your story with NoStigmasyou are helping to create a community of survivors, of which you are a part.  This is an important and brave step you are taking toward healing and letting others know that they are not alone.  Please know that your story will be held with respect and dignity and only shared to the extent which you feel comfortable.  You do not have to share specific names, places or dates and are welcome to submit anonymously.  That being said, we encourage you to never be ashamed of the actions of your loved ones or your story.  Only by making the topic of suicide and mental illness a part of our daily lives, can we truly begin to prevent suicide and erase stigmas.

It is our hope that the experience of sharing your story is a positive one that lights your own path of healing.  Thank you for having the courage and generosity to share your story with the NoStigmas community.  Above all, remember that you are not alone.

What to share - We would love to have a few pages of material around 1,000 words, but will gladly accept anything you care to share.  It can be any format or type of media; essays, letters, poetry, pictures, blogs, art, even audio & video recordings.  Get creative and feel free to mix different types of media.  Just let the story flow!

What to avoid - Our only request is that your submission has an overall positive message that inspires hope.  Be careful of dwelling only on the sad side of the story or sharing too many specific details about the death of your loved one.  That being said, suicide and mental illness are quite emotional and raw subjects that deal with the very essence of life and death.  This will naturally be a part of your story.  Just remember that these stories are meant to be about survival and the journey out of the darkness and into a place of healing.
